There are so many ways one can go about ruining their life. I mean we do it everyday. We've done it since we were in high school. We go to school because we have to. That's a given. We go to prom and participate it all those senior things because everyone else is doing it or your parents want you to. We graduate and go to college because we feel we have to cause what else would you do with yourself. You choose a major at 18 because you have to even though your not really sure it's what you want to do. But it sounds okay so you choose it.

You're almost done with your degree but hate your major but you stick it out because well you've spent so much time to get this far might as well finish. You graduate and look for a job within the field of your studies. Your studies that you didn't even care for but you get a degree in it so you might as well make the most of it. You've been dating a person for a couple of years now and the next logical step is marriage and settling down. You do it without even knowing if this is the person you want to spend the rest of your life with.

And that's just one way to ruin your life. There are so many other ways to do so. This is just one of the common ways. We do things because we feel we have to. We go through this pretend checklist for our life and cross things off because growing up you figured this was the only way. You live your life by dragging your feet and tell yourself every morning when you wake up stressed and depressed that you made it this far. Why stop now?

You have all the reason to stop. Wherever you are. If your not happy then stop. Take a minute and think about the things that are making you unhappy. Figure out are they worth it? Are they worth your stress? Is it worth your happiness? If the answer is no then let it go. Turn about face and choose a different direction to go in. Just because you made it this far doesn't mean you can't veer off and go another way.
