I'm impatient. I hate things that take too long and if I have to give more then I'm willing to at the moment I instantly don't want to do it. I don't like feeling like it's taking me forever to get something simple done. I get bored, and I'm pretty much over it 5 minutes in.

That was my problem in school and it's still the reason I have no motivation to finish school. It's taking too long. I'm just not into it. Once my heart is out of it, I have nothing to give. So I don't even bother. It's not me being lazy because I can be that too but it's more of me not feeling what I'm doing. I find it miserable to do things that I don't feel are worth it. And I get that sometimes you have to do certain things whether you see them as 'worth it' or not. I just don't think anything that makes me unhappy is worth losing my sanity.

I would sit in my classes and wonder 'what the hell am I doing here'. It's didn't feel right. My classmates would be so into it. They'd participate and get excited about things all while I would be playing candy crush on my phone waiting for the time to pass. Something felt wrong. Was it me? Was it this class? Was it my major? Was it school in general? All I knew was that whatever this is, isn't working for me.

I've quit jobs because of the simple fact that I wasn't happy. I get that your not going to always be happy doing the things you need to do. Always being happy isn't going to happen. I just don't want to be miserable doing things that I need to be doing. I learned that I don't have to stay at that coffee shop job just because I need the money. Yes I need to work but it doesn't have to at this specific place. There was a ton of other places that can make me the money I need while making me a little happier.

Doing things that I feel are wasting my time are pretty pointless to me. Whether it be wasted efforts and time on a person or work or simply school. I can't find it in myself to do it. The second my hearts out of it, so am I.

  1. Oh Brittany I couldn't agree with you more!! I left many jobs, some after a very short period of time because I wasn't happy. I know have a job that I love very much and it took time, and patience. But it was worth it. My partner at the time worked very hard to provide for us, and I always felt guilty. But I wasn't happy. I did not want to waste my days or be treated like crap.

I went into the jobs or school programs believing I wanted to be there, believing it was what I wanted. And some might think I'm privileged or think of it a waste to just leave a job or do something else. But I agree with you. I was not going to sacrifice my own time if I was not happy!

    1. I'm so glad I'm not the only one that goes about things the same way. I've been told countless times I should just stick it out and you can't always be happy. I refuse to believe that I should have to do anything where I'm not happy. I agree with you, nothing is worth feeling crappy and miserable! I like to believe there is something out there that will make us happy, we just need to find it.

  2. Brittany, I have instantly followed your blog after just reading this post. You are so like me, I will stop whatever I am doing instantly if I get bored. I never last more than 3 months in a job because I get bored or aggitated and I wont waste my time with people I don't like or work I just can't put my heart into.

Seriously Brittany, love this post! You're so outspoken and I admire that. Thank god someone writes like I do!

    1. Lauren I am so happy you enjoyed this post! It's rare that i find someone so much like me and by the sounds of it we are very alike. I can't bring myself to stay where I'm unhappy, it eats at me till I make a change.

There is nothing wrong with the way we do things. We part our happiness first, no fault in that.

Thanks for following! I'm heading to your blog now!

  3. It makes sense. Like why do something when you aren't happy? It can be sometimes be more damaging to yourself to continue so if you can stop what's making you unhappy why wouldn't you. I've also had that feeling with jobs, sometimes you can just feel that it isn't right. Do whatever makes you the happiest!

I'm not sure if you've already been nominated but I nominated you for the liebster award! All the info is on my post

    1. Exactly Janette! There is more harm is sticking through something that makes you unhappy, then admitting your not into it and moving on. And that goes for everything and everyone. We tend to forget to put our happiness first.

I have already been nominated already but I will try to include your questions in a post somehow. Thank you for thinking of me! I appreciate it.
